About MQHA

The Michigan Quarter Horse Association was incorporated in 1955. One of the oldest AQHA Affiliates, MQHA boasts strong membership support hosting quality AQHA approved horse shows, an annual tack sale and is involved in a partnership with 4H to host the Equine Connection Weekend Clinics. MQHA operates one of the last successful state-run Futurities and manages a very prestigious Stallion Service Sale which has been in existence almost as long as the Association. This enthusiast membership base still breeds, raises, trains, shows and loves the American Quarter Horse.

MQHA approves 38 AQHA/MQHA/NSBA sanctioned shows which offer several disciplines. Shows offer halter, showmanship, western, hunt seat and ranch classes and are held from April through November each year.

Supported by a professional Board of Directors and a full-time office staff, the Association has continued to be successful supporting programs that promote the American Quarter Horse.
