Purchase A Breeding

Auction day bids must be secured using a credit card. MQHA will accept a check provided it is received within 7 business days from the close of the auction. All breedings not paid by check within the time frame will be charged to the credit card used on the sale day or the breeding will be released to the public.

After purchasing a breedingWe will send both you and the stallion owner a copy of the MQHA Stallion Service Sale Contract. You are then free to make your breeding arrangements directly with the Stallion Owner/Manager. The mare owner will receive a letter from us near the end of the breeding year, requesting the mare’s name and information. This mare nomination is free. If you would like to nominate additional mares bred to the same stallion, there is a fee of $25 per mare. Please be sure to return the nomination letter per the instructions. This will lock in the future mare owner entry (entries). If the mare does not have a live foal, please notify the MQHA office. Your mare owner entry will be extended for one additional year.
Close of current year auction – The last day to purchase a breeding from the current year sale is September 10.
Mare Owner EntriesBeginning with the weanling year and through the three year old year, a mare owner is entitled to one mare owner entry out of the mare that was nominated through the purchase of the breeding in the Michigan Stallion Service Sale.
Stallion Owner EntriesThere may be a stallion owner weanling through three year old entry available. Check the lists below. Be sure to check the list your entry was conceived. If the stallion is on the list, there may be an entry available.
